Lodging Host Hotel Corporation launched our semi-annual Lock In earlier this week and we had representatives from each of our seven properties in attendance. Plantation Suites in Port Aransas, TX was our gracious host. Lodging Host was able to make use of Plantation’s board room, luxurious facilities, & close proximity to the beach & area activities.

This year’s lock in was an overwhelming success. In addition to going over company policy & meeting with new partners, Lodging Host enjoyed the sites and made full use of the comfort and amenities that Plantation Suites had to offer. We would like to thank all of our properties for making this a successful Lock In as we made plans for a wonderful remainder of the year!

24th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March

Posted on March 4th, 2013 in Las Cruces NM, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Will take place on 17 March 2013! Staybridge Suites Las Cruces would like to honor those who endured this epic tragedy & welcome those who are here to pay their respects to these individuals! If you haven’t done so, call to reserve your room as it is quickly approaching!

The Bataan Memorial Death March honors a special group of World War II heroes. These brave soldiers were responsible for the defense of the islands of Luzon, Corregidor and the harbor defense forts of the Philippines.

The conditions they encountered and the aftermath of the battle were unique. They fought in a malaria-infested region, surviving on half or quarter rations with little or no medical help. They fought with outdated equipment and virtually no air power.

On April 9, 1942, tens of thousands of American and Filipino soldiers were surrendered to Japanese forces. The Americans were Army, Army Air Corps, Navy and Marines. Among those seized were members of the 200th Coast Artillery, New Mexico National Guard.

They were marched for days in the scorching heat through the Philippine jungles. Thousands died. Those who survived faced the hardships of a prisoner of war camp. Others were wounded or killed when unmarked enemy ships transporting prisoners of war to Japan were sunk by U.S. air and naval forces.

“Good enough to finally convert me from Hilton”

5 of 5 starsReviewed November 15, 2012NEW

I have been a 100% loyal HHonors customer for several years and literally thousands of nights. I have always enjoyed most of the Hilton properties and saw no reason to switch. Three times now, I’ve tried Staybridge Suites for long term stays, and have been thoroughly impressed. Detroit and Austin were both good enough to make me seek out the Staybridge brand when Homewood Suites weren’t convenient.

This particular Staybridge, in Las Cruces, where I’ve been living for the last couple months exceeds even the other Staybridges that I tried. It is top notch. The staff, facilities, service, and meals are all really wonderful.

I highly recommend this hotel. I especially loved the running trail across the street, the free massage chair located in one of the secluded public spaces, the patio grills, free washers and dryers, and the extremely thoughtful staff.

The internet could be faster at peak times, but is above average.

I honestly have no complaints. This Staybridge is the nicest extended stay hotel I’ve ever stayed in (and I stay in a lot).

Room Tip: Corner suites have really nice views.

August Revenues show an Uptick

Posted on September 4th, 2012 in Albuquerque NM, Alexandria VA, Farmington NM, La Porte TX, Las Cruces NM, Lodging Host, Marshall TX, Port Aransas TX, Silver City NM | No Comments »

Charlotte Hilchey, Controller for Lodging Host Hotel Corp, today released hotel revenue performance numbers for the company for the Month of August.  The month of August showed a 2.3% increase in RevPar from 2011 to 2012 for it portfolio of managed hotels.  RevPar, Revenue per Available Room, is the hotel industry standard for Revenue performance.

The increases were in occupancy percentage with a 2.8% growth in occupancy year over year and a less than .75% decline in the August Average Daily Rate (ADR) for the month.  This is a reverse of the company trend of 2012 thus far that have showed a slight increase in ADR and small decrease in occupancy.

Lodging Host Hotel Corp management properties showed substantial growth in RevPar in 2011 that has slowed in 2012 somewhat.  More importantly though, in the markets where they compete, Lodging Host Hotel Corp managed properties showed growth in RevPar yields in 2011 and year to date through July of 2012.  This means that Lodging Host Hotel Corp properties continue to gain market share against their competitors.

Lodging Host Hotel Corp has been in business since 1984 providing hotel management services to investors and institutions through out the United States.  The company currently manages hotels in Texas, New Mexico and the Washington DC are of Northern Virginia.

Four Hotels Raise Money for Give Kids the World

Posted on June 13th, 2012 in Albuquerque NM, Alexandria VA, Austin TX, Blogroll, Farmington NM, La Porte TX, Las Cruces NM, Lodging Host, Marshall TX, Port Aransas TX, Silver City NM, Uncategorized | No Comments »

In the months of November and December four Lodging Host properties had an internal competition to see who could raise the most money in a two month period for the Orlando based children’s charity Give Kids the World.  Since 1986 that organization has donated family vacations to families of children suffering from life threatening illnesses.

The charity was started by a Holiday Inn franchisee and since has been a favorite charity of the Hospitality Industry.  Since that time the organization has built a wonderful themed community full of family villas and specialty outlets where children and their families can break the routine of doctors visits, medical treatments and hospital stays and enjoy joy, love and hope building cherished memories of family time spent together.

Together the four hotels, Plantation Suites & Conference Center, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marshall, TX, Staybridge Suites Austin Airport and Staybridge Suites Las Cruces, NM raised almost $2,000 in donations.  The rules for the competition included the employees not being able to donate money directly but had to hold events that raised money from guests and their communities, thus raising the highest visibility for Give Kids the World at the same time.

The hotel raising the single highest amount was the Staybridge Suites in Las Cruces NM winning the internal competition.  The prize was to be the hotel selecting an employee ambassador to go to Kissimmee, FL to the Village to present the company check along with Lodging Host President Kevin P. Hilchey.  The hotel voted to donate the costs of that trip to Give Kids the World thus increasing the donation.

“I worked at the Village for two days a couple of years ago at the 24 hour Ice Cream parlor where families can come at any time day or night and get free ice cream, milk shakes, sundaes and banana splits.” reported Mr. Hilchey. “It was one of the most moving experiences that you can have, seeing these families, who have poured all of their financial resources into trying to save the life of their child and could not otherwise afford to do such a thing, come and forget about everything by experiencing the look of happiness on the face of their child.  I wanted one of our employees to know that moment.”

Upon their arrival George and Ymezda Vejil informed our front desk associate they have come to Las Cruces to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.  The Front desk was so excited about their accomplishment and wanted to do something special for them, so they brought it to the attention of management.  Therefore, the Staybridge Suites Team passed around a card and placed it in their room. This was a small gesture to congratulate them on their special occasion.  It touched them in a way that made their celebration even more memorable! They dropped off a card for the staff that read as follows:

“Your attention to detail is excellent!! Your thoughtfulness is Above & Beyond!! You have made our stay one that we will always remember!! The Card was touching …We thank each & every one of you …Good luck & God Bless…”
