February 7th, 2012“Great Hotel & Staff”

This hotel was recommended by coworkers that live in the Farmington/Bloomfield area. Hotel is extremely nice. There is a large indoor pool, fitness room, business center, and lots of table for the continental breakfast. Great selection of food and drinks for the continental breakfast. Exterior is beatiful, with easy access to main roads. Room was huge! The bathroom is sorta of an odd layout, with the sink outside that bathroom and right next to the front door. However, the rooms itselft was very large with a separate living and bedroom area. There was as wetbar, microwave, and refrigerator in the room as well. Free Wi-fi. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for two weeks, so can report this is a consistently good place to stay. It’s cozy (not too big), quiet, clean, and friendly. The free breakfast is good, and the free snacks really do make a difference. So nice when you just have to have something at night. The staff is friendly, helpful and pleasant. I really appreciated the shuttle bus, as it took me to the train station every day or into Old Town Alexandria, which was too far for me to walk. The location is excellent. There is a grocery about a block away which is another option for snacks or carry out food. There is plenty of free parking which appears to be rare around here. It’s quiet, even though it’s just off the main road, and it’s a lovely residential area. Oh, and the beds are comfortable, with thick fluffy comforters, the towels are nice, and the tv’s are new. Pretty much everything you could want.

Kevin P. Hilchey, President of Lodging Host Hotel Corp, announced today that the company had signed an agreement and would be adding the Holiday Inn Express in Silver City, NM to it’s portfolio of managed hotels.  The hotel will be included under management Starting on January 1, 2012.

“We are very happy with this addition for two reasons; it extends our product line in New Mexico and it adds another Express branded hotel to the Lodging Host stable of IHG Branded hotels.” said Denise Arnold, Corporate Director of Marketing for Lodging Host Hotel Corp.  “The Express brand is a very strong brand for us.  We think it is a great product.”

Mike Scavone, Director of Engineering for Lodging Host, commented that the hotel would be undergoing a license extension that would include a Product Improvement Plan, the addition of rooms and the addition of a pool to the hotel in the near future.  While the exact number of rooms has not yet been determined, he placed the number at somewhere between 10 and 30 rooms.

“This hotel is a market leader in Silver City and the renovation and addition to the hotel will ensure that it stays so well into the future.” comment Mr. Hilchey.

I just wanted to express how impressed we were with your facility in Round Rock, Texas. We had a two week stay and our room was ideal . The cleanliness of our room and the hotel in general was superb. The front desk staff was very helpful and housekeeping was as well. We will be happy to recommend you to our family and friends. Thanks again, Lynn G. Austin , Texas

On October 1st 2010 Lodging Host took over the management of the Comfort Suites UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.  The hotel opened February of 2010 with 82 rooms.

It is conveniently located to the UT Health Science Center, the UT San Antonio campus, Six Flags over Texas, Interstate 10 and Loops 410 and 1604.  According to Denise Arnold, Corporate Director of Marketing for Lodging Host Hotel Corp, “We are very excited to be at this property.  It is located right in the heart of the medical district of San Antonio and surrounded by dozens of businesses from which to draw room nights. The property is all Suites, full of the right amenities and has a modern decor .  It will appeal to both Business and Leasure travelers, which is a tremendous plus.”

“This is a nice addition to our portfolio of managed hotels since we have not had a property in San Antonio since 2004″ according to Kevin Hilchey, President of Lodging Host Hotel Corp.  “We are certainly glad to have a product in the San Antonio area again as it gives our First Choice* customers a location again in this important Texas city.”

The hotel has 82 suites, an exercise facility, an indoor pool, business computer area and sweet shop just to mention a few of the amenities.  Each suite has flat panel television, iron and board, microwave, refrigerator and separate seating area.  This brings to twelve the number of hotels that Lodging Host currently has under management contract with another three covered by consulting contracts.

This was our 6th visit to Plantation Suites. Tracey welcomed us and our room was ready. They are in the midst of updating/refurbing the rooms and, even though we had one of the older rooms, it was clean and tidy with all the amenities in place.

When booking at P.S., we know when we will be staying and always call ahead. We always get the best room rates this way. We have never experienced any service issues at Plantation Suites, found the folks there very pleaseand and we are repeat guests.
We will bring my wife’s sister down to Port A and Plantation Suites again this year. She came down from Chicago a year ago, loved the place and wanted to return.
The pool and hot tub are always clean and the place always tidy. The breakfast is just fine…they have a daily hot item, make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, pastries, juices and coffee. What more could you want…….

My husband stays here often on business. This time our three children joined him for a week. We had a two bedroom suite and found it very roomy. Decor was soothing deep greens, cream and browns. Full-size fridge, fully equipped kitchen and dishwasher were very handy for a quick lunch. Daily breakfast is included and is substantial (eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, breads, milk, juice, coffee, etc). Three times a week a light supper is served as well (hamburgers, tacos, etc). Great if you don’t want to spend the time or money on a restaurant. Free washers and dryers is also a bonus! Nice gym, clean, heated pool and spa. Very handy 24 hour office center. The hotel is very clean and the staff is excellent. From the people working at the desk to housekeeping to the food service, I always received a warm and friendly greeting and found everyone very polite and helpful. Genuinely “good people”. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it is very nice. Also accepts pets (although I didn’t hear or see any while we were there).

In the Texas Real Estate Business cover story for the magazines December edition, Kevin P. Hilchey, President and CEO of Lodging Host Hotel Corp was interviewed about the state of the Hospitality Industry in the State of Texas.

Our family of 6 stayed here with a large group of other family members for a wedding and had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and easily slept our 4 kids without being too crowded. The internet coffee room was a special treat that we used day and night to just hang out in. Staff was very helpful and nice. Will stay here again.

This hotel is very nice. It has a prime location right off the highway and is next door to a very busy Mexican restaurant. I did not try the restaurant but, the parking lot was full from 5 pm to 8 pm on a weeknight.

About this hotel -

Exceptionally good hot breakfast. Much better than the average Hampton Inn.
The hotel is super clean.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
They have a good high speed internet connection.
The room was average size but included a refrigerator and microwave.

It is obvious that this property is well managed. This was a great stay!
