Kevin Hilchey announced recently that Lodging Host Hotel Corp assumed the management of the Ex-Hyatt Dearborn Michigan on November 1, 2014. The hotel currently known as the Adoba Hotel Dearborn is located adjacent to the Fairlane Town Center Mall in Dearborn. The hotel has 772 guest rooms in 16 stories and 63,000 square feet of function space. This makes the hotel the second largest hotel in Michigan and the largest function space outside of the City of Detroit Convention Center.
“I can tell you I thought that Ford was big in Texas, our home, but as I look out the back window of the hotel at Ford Motor Company’s world headquarters, Ford is big in Dearborn, Michigan” Kevin Hilchey, President of Lodging Host remarked on a recent visit to the hotel. “When I look then to the left I see the headquarters of The American Automobile Association (better know as “Triple A” or AAA) and I know that this is a town that the auto industry built.”
Patrick Hilchey, Corporate Director of Marketing for Lodging Host remarked “There is no doubt that this is a turnaround project. The city of Detroit and the Auto industry in general took a big hit in the economic downturn. But like Ford and the city of Dearborn, this hotel survived, avoided bankruptcy and is now poised to make a rebound. The economy here is making a comeback, unemployment is falling and we are looking forward to the bright future of this iconic hotel.”
When asked about Lodging Host assuming such a large project Janet Glynn, Regional Director for Lodging Host replied “Take a representative from each of the top 50 Independent Management Companies in the country, put them in a room and ask who has operated a hotel this size and one or two people might raise their hand. Our largest hotel to date was a 365 room hotel at the airport in Atlanta with 18,000 square feet of function space so this surely passes that. We have extensive experience in Food and Beverage operation in our history.”
Sixty-nine years ago today – June 6, 1944 – the decisive D-Day landings on the beaches of France took place. Over 160,000 Forces, led by American, British, Canadian and Free French Forces landed that day, in the largest amphibious invasion in history. What they accomplished that day set in motion the liberation of France and all the Nazi-enslaved nations of Europe.
To all of our veterans, who protected our freedom and changed the world, Lodging Host Hotel Corporation offers our deepest gratitude & respect. Thank you for protecting our way of life & the freedoms that we so often take for granted.

We are extremely happy to report that The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Farmington recently passed their brand inspection. That is not the amazing thing though.
The amazing thing is that they achieved a PERFECT score in the Housekeeping section. We have been in the business almost 30 years and have NEVER seen a property get a perfect housekeeping score! The IHG inspector, Gene Kelton, who has at least 30 years with IHG, told Charisse, the GM, that he had never seen a perfect housekeeping score in his career and he is retiring this month!
What a pleasure it is to stay at a perfectly clean hotel!

Quick check-in. Friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms. Great breakfast. Quiet surroundings. Plenty of parking. Fully equipped pantry. I had a late check in and was processed right away. I would definitely stay there again. The top floors has beautiful views of Albuquerque NM

Staff were friendly and helpful, good recommendations for local restaurants. Hotel room was comfortable, cozy and very clean. Wide variety of food offered for breakfast (was there on a weekend so cannot comment on dinner). Good location, close to town and major roads. Even though it is close to the airport, noise was not a negative factor. Will return anytime I am in town.
Marriott International sent notice to the General Managers of its 2011 Award winning hotels in May of 2012. Later, due to a glitch in the system, that list had to be revised in June. A recent review of the list by Kevin Hilchey, President of Lodging Host Hotel Corp, revealed that the Residence Inn at the Albuquerque Airport was the only Residence Inn in the Marriott system in the State of New Mexico to win an award. Only two other hotels in the Marriott family of Brands in the State of New Mexico received an award in 2011. Lodging Host Hotel Corp is the management company that operates the Residence Inn Albuquerque Airport hotel.
“At first, we were a little concerned about the drop from Gold level in 2010 to Silver level in 2011. Once you take into account the fact that in the later part of 2010 the hotel experienced a fire in a guest room and had a number of essential guest services closed down for the first part of 2011, you realize how amazing an accomplishment this really is.” according to Hilchey. Marriott presents these awards annually to the top performers in the system based on customer comment card and service scores.
Janet Glynn, General Manager at the Residence in Albuquerque Airport hotel, commented “The staff did a wonderful job during the emergency, responding based on their training, to insure guest safety. Afterward, they pulled together to keep delivering the exceptional guest service we are becoming known for. They continued to anticipate the needs of our guests that were complicated by construction, outside workers, additional noise levels, loss of amenity areas and other distractions. It will certainly be interesting to see where this year takes them.”
2010 Gold Award and 2011 Silver Award
It’s not the Olympics. In early June Marriott International anounced it’s Award winning hotels for 2011 and awarded the Residence Inn Albuquerque Airport in Albuaquerque, NM a Silver Award for 2011.
The same hotel in 2010 Won a Gold Award from Marriott. These awards are based on Customer Service Scores received from guests answering brand surveys. Gold indicates top 10% of the Brand and Silver indicates that the completed the entire year in the top 20% of the Brand. Quite an accomplishment for a Residence Inn. “I’m so proud of the team.” said Janet Glynn General Manager at the Residence Inn. “We had some real challanges last year with the fire in a guest room and loss of some of our facilities in the early part of 2011. To maintain a Silver level in the top 20% of the Brand; that really says something about the team.”
“We are really proud of this hotel and it’s staff” According to Kevin P. Hilchey, President of Lodging Host Hotel Corp. “We helped design and build this hotel from the ground up and when you have a catastrophe and everything works exactly as it should…. That says something about the design, the planning, the training and the dedication of the team. But when you do it and you achieve this level of Guest Service that says something about the leadership at the hotel level. We really expect that they will step it back up in 2012.”
Plantation Suites was chosen for one of our high school Mini Reunions, and from the moment we got there till we said our goodbyes, it was nothing short of INCREDIBLE! Everyone on staff was so kind and gracious. Really made us feel welcomed. Our room was great! Very clean and spacious. What I loved is they kept asking if we needed anything. Alot of hotels just check you in and forget you exist. The grounds were nice and clean and flowers were blooming. Loved the breakfasts every morning. Large choices….my favorite has to be the waffles…Thanks to Miss Tracey and the staff for making it our home for 2 days….WILL BE RETURNING!
