Longview, TX (November 2, 2007) - There has been much speculation as to what the crash in the sub-prime market is going to do to Hotel lending and construction.  My quick answers would little and nothing respectively but let me explain because it is certainly not that simple. 

While hotel lending does not really have a sub-prime aspect in name it does have “conduit” lending.  This lending source is used for stabilized operating hotels and is significantly more sophisticated than what was happening in the Housing sub-prime market. Read the rest of this entry �

LONGVIEW, TX (October 29, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp held its bi-annual Managers Lock-In Training Conference October 28-30 in Hillsboro, TX. The two-day conference hosted by the Hampton Inn Hillsboro was a time of training and team building for Lodging Host corporate employees and hotel managers. The final evening featured an awards dinner where the following employees were recognized for their excellent customer service and dedication to Lodging Host over the previous year.

LONGVIEW, TX (August 1, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp announces upgrades to its’ hotel’s frequest-stay guest reward program.  The enhanced benefits are effective today, August 1, 2007.

The upgraded reward program now gives those who make frequent reservations at our hotels more spending power.  The new MasterCard® can be spent anywhere MasterCard® debit cards are accepted. Reloads will continue to take place on a monthly basis.  Each month members make hotel reservations under the First Choice Club®, their card will be reloaded the following month. LONGVIEW, TX (April 2007) - “Going to Las Vegas will make you work for employee of the year!  My wife, Carla, and I were able to take our first Vegas trip thanks to Lodging Host.”  Mark Hickman earned the award trip as the Lodging Host Employee of Year for 2006.  Mark is the Maintenance & Engineering Supervisor at the Inn of Jefferson.  

Thanks to this incentive and dedicated work, Mark and Carla were able to spend their first wedding anniversary at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas.  The incentive trip includes 5 days/4 nights in Las Vegas or DisneyWorld including airfare and $500 spending money.  

Marks says, “Thanks for the time of our lives.  We will try to go back!”      

JEFFERSON, TX (February 2007) - “Please join us in saying goodbye to Melonie Mays who has been in the Lodging Host family for many years and welcome back Michelle Hurd after a brief departure resulting from the sale of the Holiday Inn Express in Marshall, Texas.  I know you will join me in wishing them both the best in their new endeavors. ” Announced Kevin P. JEFFERSON,TX (August 7, 2006) - The annual banquet meeting of the Opera House Theatre Players, a non-profit theatre group located in Jefferson, Texas provided a bit of a lift to the attending employees of The Inn of Jefferson.

JEFFERSON, TX (May 22, 2006) The City of Jefferson was recently named the “Best City” on the East Texas Experience FAM Tour (Familiarization Tour) conducted in February 2006 by the East Texas Tourism Association. Voting on the prestigious award were 30 bus tour operators from 18 companies and twelve states including Iowa, Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Mississippi, Minnesota, Missouri, Alabama, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. The cities of Mt. Vernon (2005) and McKinney (2004) were winners of the award in previous years.

The award was presented May 11 at the 43rd Annual East Texas Tourism Association Conference in Beaumont, TX. Speakers during this conference offered their expertise regarding downtown restoration, retirement of the baby boomers, promoting and hosting bus tour groups, knowing your market and developing hospitality, sports tourism, funding issues for the State Park system and additional tourism related topics.

“How exciting for us”, said Juanita Wakefield Chitwood, City of Jefferson Director of Tourism Development. “This exemplifies what Jefferson is known for—hospitality, good food, outstanding lodging facilities, unique shopping, great attractions, and a very colorful history. Everyone involved in Jefferson’s tourism industry deserves a big pat on the back for this.”
