LONGVIEW, TX (October 29, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp held its bi-annual Managers Lock-In Training Conference October 28-30 in Hillsboro, TX. The two-day conference hosted by the Hampton Inn Hillsboro was a time of training and team building for Lodging Host corporate employees and hotel managers. The final evening featured an awards dinner where the following employees were recognized for their excellent customer service and dedication to Lodging Host over the previous year.

LA PORTE, TX (August 2007) - Tropical storm Erin slammed into the Texas Bay Area coastline on Thursday, August 16, 2007. The La Porte and surrounding areas were hit hard by torrential rain, 40 mph winds, and flash flooding.
Comfort Suites in La Porte is located on Highway 146 and Fairmont Parkway. By mid-afternoon, Hwy 146, Hwy 225, and Fairmont Parkway were closed due to excessive flooding. Stranded motorists abandoned their cars and trucks along Hwy 146 at Fairmont Parkway and began walking, in knee high water and rain, to the Comfort Suites for shelter. Read the rest of this entry
LONGVIEW, TX (August 10, 2007) - August 10th will be the final working day for our 2007 summer interns. Over the previous 12 weeks, these college students have worked full-time positions in three of our hotels rotating through all the departments. They have learned the in-and-out of hotel operations and have become valuable assets along the way.

LONGVIEW, TX (August 1, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp announces upgrades to its’ hotel’s frequest-stay guest reward program. The enhanced benefits are effective today, August 1, 2007.
The upgraded reward program now gives those who make frequent reservations at our hotels more spending power. The new MasterCard® can be spent anywhere MasterCard® debit cards are accepted. Reloads will continue to take place on a monthly basis. Each month members make hotel reservations under the First Choice Club®, their card will be reloaded the following month. LONGVIEW, TX (May 2007) - You will see some new faces around Lodging Host Hotel Corp managed hotels this summer. Our summer internship program began May 21st. This 12-week internship is for college hospitality or marketing majors seeking a career within the hospitality field. They will spend the summer rotating through all the departments of our hotels learning the ins and outs of hotel management.
LA PORTE, TX (May 23, 2007) The La Porte Police Department sponsored a benefit for Sergeant Lay. He passed away from cancer within the month of May.
Robert Gallion and Allen Gudell fired up the pits and started smoking briskets at around 3:00 PM on May 23rd and continued smoking 150 briskets until Friday, May 25th. Read the rest of this entry
LA PORTE, TX (April 2007) - Choice Hotels International recently announced that its Comfort Suites brand will become 100 percent smoke free May 1, 2007. All 433 domestic Comfort Suites including public areas will be non-smoking. This move extends Choice Hotels legacy as an industry pioneer in non-smoking accommodations, as in 1984, Choice became the first hotel company to include non-smoking rooms in every one of its properties worldwide.
The Comfort Suites brand provides a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for its guests and this policy is a direct outgrowth of consumers’ preferences for a smoke-free hotel experience.
