The Hampton Inn in Livingston recently appointed Becky Schomer as the new General Manager, moving from the sales position.  Mike Deal has been appointed as the new Sales Manager, previously employed as the front desk manager. Becky has been with the Lodging Host family for eight years and Mike has been with the Lodging Host family for three years.

LONGVIEW, TX - With a new year comes new growth and Lodging Host Hotel Corp is preparing for a year of expansion.  Lodging Host has been re-positioning managers to meet the current needs of the company.

Gloria McKelvey has temporarily left the Holiday Inn Express in Farmington, New Mexico.  She will be returning to the hotel and Lodging Host in approximately six months. Janet Glynn, our prior Field Systems Consultant, has stepped in as manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Farmington during their renovation period.   “I’m very excited to be a part of such a great team.  I’m looking forward to watching the renovation make this hotel an even more comfortable and home-like experience.” Janet K. Glynn, MBA  Glynn will continue in management at the new Residence Inn Albuquerque hotel once open in 2008. The corporate position of Field Systems Consultant has been filled by Nikki Patterson, formerly General Manager of the Hampton Inn Livingston.Louis Christian, a Lodging Host manager for over 15 years, is currently filling the Hampton Inn Livingston management position.  Christian is also training new managers during this time, preparing the company for future growth.  Christian will move to Marshall, Texas  to open the new Holiday Inn Express Marshall this spring.Holiday Inn Express Livingston welcomes Ms. Sandra Brown as manager.  Brown is a recent hotel management graduate who has also been in training for the prior 90 days with Christian.  Down in south Texas, the building of a hotel in Hamilton Texas has caused a shift from the manager at Plantation Suites in Port Aransas (Monica Blackwell) to take the new property when it opens. Her position will be filled by Geneva Peacock, coming from the second position at Candlewood Suites in Round Rock. 

LIVINGSTON, TX -  Staff at the Hampton Inn in Livingston are volunteering to donate food baskets this holiday season to local hometown families.  The families were selected through the Livingston School District.  One family has been selected for Thanksgiving and two families for Christmas. The baskets consist of a turkey and all the trimmings plus extra items of food staples.

Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express in Livingston are also participating in Toys for Tots.  Toys are collected and then delivered to the local volunteer fire stations for delivery before Christmas. 

The City of Livingston will be in full Christmas Spirit this year while sponsoring the Livingston Hometown Christmas on December 8th.  The day will feature a car show (with raffle for new car), petting zoo, pony carousel, wagon rides, carriage rides, the Christmas Train Village, arts & crafts vendors, entertainment and refreshments between 10:00 am and 9:00 pm.   

The day also includes a Jingle Bell Fun Run and Walk at 1:00pm.  The run/walk is open to anyone interested in a little fun and friendly competition.  A Best Holiday Outfit and Largest Theme-Dressed Group award will also be presented. Get your friends and neighbors together and join in the fun holiday event.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will begin at 6:00 p.m.  And Santa Clause will be at City Hall from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm for photos.  Take an old fashioned hayride through Pedigo Park and enjoy the lighted holiday figures and other Christmas lights on display, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. 

Longview, TX (November 2, 2007) - There has been much speculation as to what the crash in the sub-prime market is going to do to Hotel lending and construction.  My quick answers would little and nothing respectively but let me explain because it is certainly not that simple. 

While hotel lending does not really have a sub-prime aspect in name it does have “conduit” lending.  This lending source is used for stabilized operating hotels and is significantly more sophisticated than what was happening in the Housing sub-prime market. Read the rest of this entry �

LONGVIEW, TX (October 29, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp held its bi-annual Managers Lock-In Training Conference October 28-30 in Hillsboro, TX. The two-day conference hosted by the Hampton Inn Hillsboro was a time of training and team building for Lodging Host corporate employees and hotel managers. The final evening featured an awards dinner where the following employees were recognized for their excellent customer service and dedication to Lodging Host over the previous year.

LONGVIEW, TX (October 19, 2007) - Congratulations to Will Swansey of Hampton Inn Livingston.  Will has been promoted within the Lodging Host umbrella.  He will be leaving his position as Maintenance Supervisor at the Hampton Inn Livingston to accept the position of President with Texas Plants & Supply in Longview Texas.  Texas Plants & Supply is a landscaping company which specializes in the beatification of hotel properties.  The landscaping company is co-owned and managed by Lodging Host Hotel Corp.  

HILLSBORO, TX (September 2007) - Since the opening of the Hampton Inn Hillsboro hotel, Lodging Host Hotel Corp now manages three Hampton Inn brand hotels including Marble Falls, Livingston and Hillsboro. All three Lodging Host Hotel Corp managed Hampton Inn hotels are located in Texas. 

With the opening of the third property, Hilton Hotels Corporation invited Lodging Host to join the Hampton group of Key Partners.  A Key Partner is an owner, ownership group or management company that owns at least three Hampton brand hotels that we would like to continue doing future business with as a brand.  This is an internal Hampton brand program.”  stated Sheila Wright, Regional Director Product & Service with Hampton Brand Hotel Performance.

The Lodging Host Hampton Key Partner meeting was held September 6th in Hillsboro where Lodging Host proudly accepted the partnership opportunity. 

LONGVIEW, TX (August 1, 2007) - Lodging Host Hotel Corp announces upgrades to its’ hotel’s frequest-stay guest reward program.  The enhanced benefits are effective today, August 1, 2007.

The upgraded reward program now gives those who make frequent reservations at our hotels more spending power.  The new MasterCard® can be spent anywhere MasterCard® debit cards are accepted. Reloads will continue to take place on a monthly basis.  Each month members make hotel reservations under the First Choice Club®, their card will be reloaded the following month. LIVINGSTON, TX (May 2007) - The 39th Alabama-Coushatta Tribe Powwow will be held Friday June 1 & Saturday June 2, 2007.  The first weekend in June at the Alabama-Coushatta Reservation near Livingston Texas American Indians from across the country will gather in their finest regalia to dance, sing, drum and reunite.

Nestled deep in the Big Thicket of East Texas lies Texas’ oldest Indian Reservation.  Approximately 500 Alabama-Coushatta tribal members call these 4,600 acres of timberland their home. The reservation goes to great lengths to honor their heritage while they carefully consider how decisions made today will affect the Tribe and its families seven generations forward and seven generations back.  This traditional philosophy, combined with a faith-based focus on daily living, helps them stay committed to bettering themselves and their community.
