Lodging Host Hotel Corp was proud to announce that it opened it’s second new hotel this year on July 16th in Marshall, TX. The hotel is a Holiday Inn Express & Suites and has eighty guest rooms and suites. Holiday Inn Express is a brand of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) which operates over 3,000 hotels worldwide.
The design of the hotel incorporates all of the elements of the Holiday Inn Relaunch program including upgraded breakfast, new bedding, new entry design elements, communal breakfast table, exercise facility, business center, branded backround music and new signage. According to Denise Arnold, Corporate Director of Marketing for Lodging Host, “It is an exciting and easy product to sell. IHG truly is building “Hotels that Guests Love” like their new motto says”.
The relaunch is not just about new designs though. According to Kevin Hilchey, President of Lodging Host, “We had to pass a rigorous inspection and will have to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction scores to maintain the upgraded product guidelines. Because of this we have assigned a person many believe is our best General Manager in the company, Louis C. Christian III. He has been with us a long time and has put together the team that will make this project a homerun for us and the community of Marshall”.
Guests love the changes at Best Western Old Colony Inn located in Alexandria,VA. We’ve put in some flat panel Televisions, add ten new King Bedded rooms, and even add new bedding. Still, all the guests rave about is the Snack Kitchen. Thats according to all of the guest comment cards that we have been receiving in the last two months.
There is no doubt that the “Snack Kitchen” added late last June is catching on fast. While it has taken a while to let people know that it is at the Best Western Old Colony in Alexandria, VA they are definately coming back for more. With the economy in a slump and area hotels mumbling that while business is not terrible, it is definately slower than this time last year, the Best Western Old Colony has business significantly stronger than this time last year.
Paul Banigan, General Manager and part Owner of the hotel, says: “We think that our staff gives exceptional service. We also have put together a great little boutique property in an exceptional location but I have to admit that the guests LOVE the Snack Kitchen. It has been the primary reason for our growth while everyone else’s business is off. The value perception is unbelievable and that is just how some of the guests react.”

General Manager, Pauline Ramirez of Lodging Host, the hotel management company, commented “The marble counter tops, wood vanities, new tile floors and new lighting fixtures give the bathrooms a wonderful spa-like feel.” Guests give the bathrooms rave reviews. Sandfest, the annual Sand Sculptor contest, drew 100,000 visitors to the island. The professional sculptors began their masterful handiwork Friday morning, and judging was done Sunday. There were also amateur and children’s competitions as well as a learning mountain. And, of course, there were many craft and food booths to enjoy. It is one of the most popular events held in Port A, and, by all accounts, everyone had a wonderful time.
