October 24th, 2006Lodging Host Annual Awards Dinner
Port Aransas, TX (October 24, 2006) During the semi-annual meeting of all the Lodging Host Hotel Corp Management Team a break was taken from the training exercises and information exchanges to hold the Annual Awards Dinner. It was an enjoyable evening, during which the three Lodging Host annual employee awards were presented.

The first presentation was for Employee of the Year. This year it went to Mark Hickman from The Inn of Jefferson. Mark is employed as the Maintenance Engineer at the hotel and once his nomination was announced he was the clear-cut winner. Melonie Mays, his General Manager, accepted his award in his absence as pictured below. Immediately below that we see him standing proudly with his plaque after the presentation at the property. Melonie’s comment was “I am so happy for Mark. I cannot think of anyone who is more deserving of this honor. He is a vital part of the hotel, I just don’t know what we would do without him.” We think a round of applause is in order and hope he enjoys his trip. The Employee of the Year award includes a trip to either Las Vegas or DisneyWorld according to the employee’s choice.
The second award presented that evening was for the Department Head of the Year. This honor went to an employee that has been at the hotel since opening, working in Laundry, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and finally Front Office Manager and Sales. The Department Head of the Year award goes to Pauline Ramirez of the Hampton Inn on the Lake Marble Falls. Pictured below is her accepting the award presented to her by the Lodging Host Hotel Corp Board of Directors.

And finally, we reach the award that the managers aspire to. Lodging Host Hotel Corp Manager of the Year. This year’s winner started with us as a desk clerk in the town of La Porte, TX and has grown to become a key part of Lodging Host’s Management Team. She has operated hotels for Lodging Host in the brands of Choice Hotels and Hilton, along with one independant hotel and has been very successful in doing so. Congratulations go out to Terri Spiers, the Lodging Host Hotel Corp Manager of the Year.
