November 28th, 2006Talking Turkey with the Troops
LAS CRUCES, NM (November 28, 2006) Staybridge Suites employees, finding that the National Guard troops staying at their hotel were unable to go home for Thanksgiving, decided to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner for all the guests staying at the Staybridge Suites over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The staff of the hotel pitched in and made a full, traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, ham, green bean cassarole, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and chocolate cake.

One soldier was enlisted to help carve the turkey. The meal started at lunchtime and finished up at 8:30 that evening.

The next morning a couple of the soldier’s were alert enough to help decorate the Christmas tree in the lobby.
